Meet Martin Howey

Unquestionably one of the busiest and most respected business consultants in North America, Martin Howey’s 58+ years of practical hands-on know-how and experience has generated more than $10.7 billion in sales for his clients.

The successes Martin has created for some of his corporate clients have been impressive and many, and have earned him substantial sums of money, recognition and notoriety.

Having contributed to the financial success of more than 10,000 small businesses throughout the world, Martin has identified the patterns that limit and restrict business growth, and more importantly, knows what to do to prevent it from happening or to reverse the trend if it has already infected a business.

Using the skills, abilities, and know-how he used to create successes for his large corporate clients, Martin co-founded and built a successful consulting franchise business in the U.K. and Ireland that had a Certified Accountant’s Valuation of $12.4 million in only 6 1/2 months.

Martin's Personal Life

As a young child Martin contract Polio which paralyzed one of his vocal cords, affected his hearing, left his right leg half an inch shorter than his left, and was severely underweight most of his childhood.

In incredibly active person, Martin has completely worn out one of his shoulders and his right knee, requiring major surgery to replace both of them. To top it off, he is also a 3-time stage 4 colorectal cancer survivor and receives periodic treatments for non-hodgkins lymphoma in his spine.

Upon graduation from high school Martin attempted to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps. He felt that because he was so skinny and physically weaker than his classmates, the Marines could help him develop physically and give him a boost of confidence and self-esteem that he needed. But as luck would have it, Martin was rejected by the Marines until he could gain enough weight to meet the Marine's standard for his height.

Once the required weight was gained and Martin was accepted by the Marines, he was one of 3 out of 26 applicants that qualified to serve as a member of the Marine's elite 1st Force Recon unit during the Cuban Crisis and Vietnam conflicts.

The intense discipline and training that he received in Recon enabled Martin to develop an exceptional work ethic and skills, and an unstoppable mindset for meeting and conquering the difficulties that life and business would have a way of unexpectedly showing up later in his life.

A Handful of Personal Successes

Through the years Martin has had an enviable athletic run. Martin wrestled in high school and for a time while attending California State University. His gym and health club in Long Beach, California was a popular training site for the Cal State 49'ers and some of the Los Angeles Rams football team.

His family: Married to Cheryl Zufelt for the past 52 years, they are the parents of 6 children, 35 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren
